Liesel
Pronounced "LEE-zul." (That's OK, several members of my extended family still don't pronounce/spell it correctly either.)

Since acquiring liesel.com several years ago, I have received many emails from other Liesels commiserating society's general inability to spell or even pronounce the name Liesel without instantly making some kindergarten rhyme (why yes, Liesel DOES rhyme with measle and weasel), or asking, "Did your parents love The Sound of Music?"

Personally, I was named after my neighbor, Lieselotte (my full name), where I was born on an American Air Force base in Germany.

But in non-Liesels' defense there are different spellings and pronunciations, and many stories behind the elite name. Here are the first Liesels to submit photos to the House of Liesels! C'mon, I know there are more of us out there...
